Why Dermazen
Clinically studied. Dermatologist evaluated.*
92% reported reduction in flakiness / dandruff after 4 weeks*
88% reported improvement in overall scalp health after 4 weeks*
*In a 4-week open-label, single-group clinical consumer perception study conducted by Citruslabs (n=27 test subjects. 18 and over.). Results based on participant self-report unless noted as dermatologist-confirmed. Individual results may vary.
No harsh sulfates
No SLS, SLES, or other harsh sulfates. Gentle plant-based cleansers support the skin barrier instead of stripping it, so you can wash without the dryness and tightness that harsh cleansers can cause.
No heavy oils
No heavy oils, waxes, or butters that can worsen the flake cycle. Our formulas use only C8/C10 MCT and squalane, two lightweight lipids.
No steroids
No steroids in any formula. Every product is a gentle cosmetic formula, made for daily use on seborrheic dermatitis-prone skin and scalps.
Contact time that matches the problem
A rinse-off product gets about two minutes of contact time. Leave-on formulas like the Calming Seborrheic Serum stay on for 8 or more hours instead.

Take the Skin & Scalp QuizAre Dermazen products right for seborrheic dermatitis-prone skin?
Dermazen products are cosmetics formulated for seborrheic dermatitis-prone skin. They support how skin looks and feels: clearing buildup, soothing visible redness, and supporting the skin barrier. They are not drugs and do not treat medical conditions. For diagnosis or medical treatment, talk to a dermatologist.
Where should I start?
Start with where you notice it most. If your scalp feels flaky, itchy, or tight, start with Scalp & Hair Care. If the skin beside your nose, in your brows, or along your hairline looks flaky or red, start with Face & Body Care. For a complete routine, see Systems & Bundles. Or take the Skin & Scalp Quiz for a routine matched to your skin and scalp.
Are natural oils like coconut oil good for a flaky scalp?
Not always. Oils like coconut, olive, and argan contain oleic acid, a long-chain fatty acid that research links to scalp barrier disruption. For reactive scalps, some of the most popular natural oils can worsen the flake cycle rather than breaking it. Dermazen formulas use only C8/C10 MCT and squalane, two lightweight lipids chosen for scalp compatibility.
What makes Dermazen formulas different?
Three rules across every product: no harsh sulfates, no heavy oils, and no steroids. We moisturize with only two lightweight lipids, C8/C10 MCT and squalane, and leave-on formulas like our overnight serum get hours of contact time instead of minutes.
How soon do people notice a difference?
In a 4-week clinical study, there was a significant improvement in the appearance of flakiness, redness, and scale buildup after 1 week.* Results build with consistent use. (*4-week clinical study, n=27. Individual results may vary.)
